Dr. Barbara Sarb brings over 30 years of dedicated experience in Neurology and Interventional Pain Management to the team at Coastal Pain & Spine Center. With a career defined by clinical excellence and a commitment to patient-centered care, she specializes in advanced, minimally invasive treatments designed to improve function and quality of life. She holds board certifications in Neurology and Sleep Medicine having completed residency at the Michigan Institute of Neurologic Disorders (MIND), with Neurodiagnostic training at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Prior to that, she completed her internship at Beaumont/Botsford hospital of Farmington Hills, MI. Her medical education was from A.T. Still University, Kirksville, MO and she holds an undergraduate degree in Physiology from Michigan State University.
Dr. Sarb’s clinical practice focuses on diagnosing and treating complex neurological and pain conditions. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of interventional procedures, including Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS), Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (PNS), Epidural Steroid Injections (ESI), Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression (MILD), and Joint Injections. She also adds a new opportunity at Coastal Pain & Spine Center providing patients with in house EMG/NCV nerve studies to aid in clinical care.
Before joining Coastal Pain & Spine Center, Dr. Sarb served as the Director of Interventional Pain at Florence Neurosurgery and Spine/McLeod MPA (2015–2024), where she performed interventional procedures for a multi-disciplinary surgical team and assisted in groundbreaking research for neuromodulation SCS therapy. From 1995 to 2015, she was a partner in a large multi-specialty group in South Carolina, providing comprehensive neurologic and pain management care to patients across Horry County’s hospital systems.
Having fallen in love with the Lowcountry, Dr. Sarb is proud to call this region home. Outside of the office, she embraces an active, outdoor lifestyle. Whether she is in the garden tending to her flowers, picking up a new hobby like pickleball, or attending local equestrian shows, she is rarely found indoors. A true animal lover, she previously managed a horse barn in South Carolina and remains deeply connected to the equestrian community
