Dr. Kinch is a Michigan native from the small town of Armada. He holds board certifications in Pain Medicine AND Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology overseen by the American Board of Medical Specialties. He attended Kalamazoo College for his undergraduate education earning a degree in Chemistry graduating Magna Cum Laude. During undergraduate studies, he lived abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark for nearly a year completing a Medical Practice and Policy Program which is where he developed an interest in medicine. Wanting to care for patients directly, he matriculated at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI receiving his Medical Doctorate along with the Dean's Distinguished Leadership Award at graduation. He remained in Detroit to complete his transitional year internship at Henry Ford Hospital.
Dr. Kinch went on to complete an Anesthesiology residency at the world renowned University of Chicago, the only Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center on Chicago's south side. During residency, he had many rotations in acute and chronic pain management thus developing a passion for this expanding area of medicine. Subsequently, the capstone of his medical training was a Comprehensive Pain Management Fellowship at the storied University of Virginia overseen by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. He remained on staff at UVA as an Assistant Professor in the Anesthesiology Department and was appointed the role of Associate Program Director for the Pain Medicine Fellowship training and mentoring students, residents, and fellows on both inpatient and outpatient care.
Having a breadth of experience in high acuity and complex pathology from academic medicine, he is glad to bring this knowledge to the Lowcountry and is excited to partner in private practice enabling greater autonomy and efficient patient care opportunities.
When not working, Dr. Kinch enjoys spending time with his wife, toddler, and their rescued Irish Wolfhound. A former tennis player, he has started to pick up pickleball and when the rare opportunity presents, he has been aspiring to complete a round of golf without a lost ball... he has yet to succeed.
Dr. Kinch sees patients at both the Bluffton and Hilton Head Island office.
